Johnson City, NY (WBNG Binghamton) March is a very green month.

At Traditions at the Glen Friday, it was the 5th annual Green Tie Dinner.

The Catholic Education Foundation hosted the event that helps the four local Catholic schools in Broome County.

Rich Bucci, the president of Catholic Schools of Broome County, said the Green Tie Event is a great way to show how Catholic schools help the community.

"A viable strong Catholic school system is really a benefit to the entire community regardless of where your children go to school," said Bucci.

The cost was $75 per person at the door. Money raised will go to technology and engineering programs at the schools.
