Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Some students at Binghamton High school go the opportunity to speak with an astronaut in space.

Astronaut Mike Hopkins had contact with Kopernik Observatory around 12:30 Wednesday afternoon, when the International Space Station flew over the Southern Tier.

More than 40 students prepared questions for Hopkins by learning about life on the I.S.S, radio communications, and astronomy

Hopkins is aboard the I.S.S for a 5 and a half month mission.
