Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The B-Mets will have another pitcher representing them in this year's Futures All-Star game...22 year old Matthew Harvey.
Harvey is 0-1 with a 5.59 ERA in two starts for the Binghamton Mets.
But that's not getting him down.
He's excited for his opportunity to pitch in Double A, and knows how special it is to be selected to play in the Future's game.
"It's great. I couldn't be more happy about being selected, having a chance to go there. It's kind of crazy. It's my first year of pro ball and I'm getting to do all this stuff. Playing Double A, playing in the Future's game, it's a great honor," he says.
Harvey was the Mets top draft pick in 2010.
Besides the selection to the Future's game, he was also selected as a Mid-Season All-Star in the Florida State League this season.
