Endicott, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The village of Endicott honored veterans for the time they served protecting the country.

Civilians, veterans and public officials gathered at Veterans Memorial Park to honor those who served, and in some cases, made the ultimate sacrifice.

In attendance was veteran Carl Levane, 83. He said coming to services like the one in Endicott brings him back to his early childhood.

"As a boy I would come with my older brothers and then later with my boy scout troop, and then later I was in the colonial fife and drum corps," Levane said.

Levane comes from a military family. His father served and was wounded in World War I.
