Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A Broome County vacant home that was to be auctioned off next week goes up in flames.

A call came in at approximately 2:20 a.m. Thursday to 15 Tudor St. in Binghamton.

When Binghamton Fire crews arrived, the house was fully engulfed, and had probably been burning for a while before it was called in, officials said.

They had the fire put out within minutes, but stayed on the scene throughout the morning putting out hot-spots.

The home was vacant and had no electric or gas hooked up.

It is owned by Broome County, and is a part of the County's Real Property Auction taking place April 13.

The Binghamton Fire Marshal's office is investigating the cause.
