Cortland, NY (WBNG Binghamton) There may be no better sign that fall is around the corner, then the Jets touching down in Cortland for Training Camp.
For three of the last four years, the Jets have made the trip upstate...today was once again move-in day...our Travis Eldridge tells us how their getting ready for the first day of camp.

2013 Jets Camp is officially underway here at SUNY Cortland as the team moved into the dorm rooms here at Cortland this afternoon.

But starting Friday, the Jets start three weeks of training camp here on the fields of Cortland and focus shifts to football.

And while there are plenty of question marks surrounding this year's team, the one everyone wants to talk about is the quarterback competition.

"I think the fact that the quarterback is the face of the franchise or that it is perceived that way, so obviously there's going to be more written about it and more scrutiny about that particular position," says head coach Rex Ryan.

Rookie quarterback Geno Smith will be competing with the incumbent Mark Sanchez for the position.

Smith says, while it isn't his first time competing for the starting job...he did so back in high school and in college. This one is a totally different situation.

"Every situation is different, those situations don't play into this one and I just got to take it in full strides," Smith says.

The Jets get underway Friday morning at 10 a.m. here at SUNY Cortland and like most of the practices here during camp, it will be open to the public starting at 9 a.m. so get on up here and enjoy the Jets in upstate New York.

Reporting in Cortland, Travis Eldridge, WBNG-TV Action Sports.

Practices will run through Monday.

Tuesday is an off day.

Practice will be back on again on Wednesday.
