Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton)
Initially it was feared Robin Lehner could be suspended for 20 games for his actions during Saturday's game with Syracuse, so in a way this comes as a relief.
Today the AHL announced his suspension.
Turns out he will only miss 3 games following his game misconduct for abuse of an official in the New Year's eve game with Syracuse.
Lehner skated down ice to join a brawl, but was turned away by the on-ice officials, who wrestled his jersey off his back before sending him to the locker room.
Today Lehner told the press and sun bulletin he joined the fight because he saw the Syracuse goalie skate towards the corner and didn't want to leave his team shorthanded in a fight.
