Conklin, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The Conklin Raiders Gold 18 and under softball team is on their way to San Diego, California for the ASA Gold Nationals.

It's one of only 64 teams in the U.S. to participate.

And the Raiders are only the second team from New York to qualify.

While the team is headed to California, they know they have business to take care of.

"We know it's the best teams in the country. I mean there's only 64 teams out of the entire country, only 64 teams are going to be there so its really an honor but its also very nerve wracking because we know that we're really going to have to step up our game," says Brianna Jennings, one of the team's pitchers.

"It's awesome we get to go and compete against that level. I think we need to forget that it's California and just focus on playing because we need to have our mind on the game," says Karli Theleman, the team's catcher.

The Conklin Raiders won the Silver Division of the recent Stop DWI Tournament of Champions at BAGSAI.

The national tournament runs from Monday July 25 to Sat. July 30
