Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) More than 70 pieces of artwork are being featured at the Roberson Museum and Science Center.

All of the pieces were created by artists that live within 150 miles of Binghamton.

The Roberson Museum and Science Center celebrated the opening of its 2013 Regional Art Exhibition Sunday afternoon.

An awards ceremony was held at the event with cash prizes for first, second and third place winners.

Hundreds of people came out to support the artists.

"Roberson is about this region," said Roberson Museum Executive Director Terry McDonald. "Our mission is art history and science. What a great way to present art by bringing art from the community here. It's really a pleasure to be doing this."

General Admission was $5, but free for all Roberson Museum members.

Proceeds will help support the museum's educational programs.

The 2013 Regional Art Exhibition will be on display until Oct. 27.
