Man busted for meth lab

Town of Southport, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A man is in jail after deputies discover a methamphetamine lab in his home.

Chemung County Sheriff deputies on Friday arrested Scott M. Swarthout, 44, at 82 Comfort Road in the town of Southport.

Deputies responded to the home that morning after a 911 report of a domestic dispute.

After further investigation, deputies discovered an active meth lab.

Swarthout was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the second degree, a felony, and unlawful manufacturing of methamphetamine in the third degree, a class D felony.

Swarthout was arraigned in the Town of Southport Court and remanded to the Chemung County Jail without bail.
