Man arrested for early morning stabbing

Johnson City, NY (WBNG Binghamton) According to Johnson City Police, an 18-year old was arrested for stabbing a man in the abdomen and shoulder.

Johnson City Police responded to a dispute that resulted in a stabbing at 12:50 a.m. on Wednesday to the area of Main Street near Carhart Ave.

Police arrested Corey A. Valdez, of Johnson City, without incident on Wells Ave.

Further investigation revealed Valdez knew the victim, according to police.

The victim was taken to Wilson Hospital where he was treated for his injuries.

Valdez was arraigned in Johnson City Village Court and taken to Broome County Jail pending further action from Broome County Court.

Valdez was charged with assault in the first degree, a felony.
