Sex offender in custody after stabbing

Johnson City, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Police name the man they say stabbed a neighbor Tuesday afternoon in Johnson City.

Johnson City Police said just before 3 p.m., Arthur Besanson, 54, of Johnson City, attacked another man with a knife following an argument at 6 Main Street Terrace.

The victim, who police have not named, received multiple stab wounds.

Paramedics took Besanson and the victim to Wilson Hospital for non-life-threatening injures.

Both were released.

Besanson is also a level three sex offender and has been convicted of incest.

Officials arraigned Besanson in Johnson City Village Court and sent him to Broome County Jail without bail.

He is charged with Assault and Criminal possession of a weapon, both felonies.
