Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Welcoming a new, little one into the world is always a special moment. And some newborns get to share their birthdays with international holidays.

Keoni was born on Dec. 25 at 10:30 a.m. in Binghamton to a very proud and happy mother.

Keoni's grandfather said this is his favorite Christmas yet, and looks forward to future holidays with his new grandson.

"[Christmas will be] something to look forward to as a grandfather," said Stephen Mitchell. "Also, watching him grow up, go to school, get first boo-boo. It just makes my life worth living for."

Mitchell added he will now have to plan ahead when it comes to birthday and Christmas gifts for Keoni.

Meanwhile, Keoni's mom said her newborn is the best Christmas present she has ever received, and that he was also a surprise gift.

"I'm excited," said Takicia Mitchell. "I didn't think he was going to make it on Christmas. But everybody was like, oh, you are going to have a Christmas baby. I'm like, no I'm not, but here I am with my Christmas baby."

Keoni was due Jan. 2, so he could have hit another holiday if he'd waited.

Keoni's mom said she can't wait to get her baby boy home to meet his older brother and to spend the rest of the holidays amidst more cozy and familiar surroundings.
