Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Sergio Beldo's mom said her faith is helping her deal with the loss of her son.

Just days after Binghamton police found 27-year-old Beldo shot to death, mom Sharon Martinez said she is praying for everyone involved.

Martinez said when she first heard about the shooting, she had a feeling her son was involved.

She tried to get in touch with her son, but couldn't. She then contacted Beldo's girlfriend who confirmed the news.

Martinez says she is crushed by the loss of her son, but her faith is keeping her strong.

"I just pray that all the people who knew about the murder, who took part in the murder and even those who knew about the plot to kill my son and didn't say anything, I'm praying for all of them." Martinez said. "I have no anger, no animosity against any of them."

Martinez said there are plans for a prayer vigil and a funeral.

Late Friday night, Binghamton police arrested Trevis Johnson, 21, in connection to the homicide.

Johnson is charged with murder in the second degree and is in the Broome County jail. He is being held without bail.

Binghamton Police said the investigation is ongoing and they expect more arrests.

Police found Beldo dead at 3 1/2 Carey Street early Friday morning inside an apartment at 30 Mather Street.

They said Friday they were searching for at least three black males who fled the scene in a car.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Binghamton Police Detective Bureau at (607) 772-7080.
