Johnson City, NY (WBNG Binghamton) If you still haven't decided on a meaningful resolution to start off the new year, donating blood to save lives could be what you're looking for.

WBNG-TV is a proud sponsor of the New Year's Resolution Blood Drive.

The Oakdale Mall was crowded with people looking to make a difference.

According to the American Red Cross every two seconds someone in the United States is in need of a blood transfusion.

"You don't know who you're helping, you don't know when or where but you're actually helping somebody and when you get off the table it's a nice feeling to know somewhere, somehow you've helped somebody and it's only taken about an hour of your time," said Sheila Sullivan, American Red Cross.

If you're interested in joining the effort that doesn't cost a thing but an hour of your time, there are still three more days to come and donate.
