Fenton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) For Newark Valley, this week isn't much different from last week, it's win or go home as the move onto the Section IV semifinals. That is not a new feeling for the Cardinals though, because they needed to win in Week 8 just to make the playoffs.

With the win over Chenango Valley, Newark Valley earned the final playoff spot in Class C. Now, the win-or-go-home run continues with a team the Cardinals are relatively familiar with, Waverly.

"Waverly, you know you have that young sophomore quarterback, they sling the ball all over the place," said coach Brian Sherwood. "We spent a lot of time with them in the summer in the 7-on-7 and they do it very well."

"They're a passing team. They have Jason Miller is a coach, he was a really good quarterback and his son is pretty good too," said senior larry Kasmarcik. "I think he's only a sophomore and he's doing pretty well for himself. "

The match-up is the second of the two Class C semifinals. It's scheduled to get underway at 3:00 p.m. Saturday at U-E's Ty Cobb Stadium.
