Owego, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Excitement in the area is building as the high school football season gets underway next Friday.

And one team playing on opening night, is the Owego Free Academy Indians.

The Indians are coming off a 7 and 3 season that saw them make it all the way to the sectional title game against Chenango Valley.

This year, the team has expectations of returning to the title game.

The offense will be anchored by 2 starters on the offensive line and running backs who have varsity experience.

Plus, quarterback Nick Larrabee is back for his second season as a starter.

"It makes it a little easier that people already have faith in me and I don't have to prove anything but at the same time, I've set a higher bar for myself. I think there's a lot more pressure on me. It's a negative and a positive but I think we should be able to overcome it," he says.

"Nick's a great thrower, always has been since Pee-wee. He could always throw it so good so we're going to have to cut more passing. We're a running team but more passing probably, get the ball down the field and score some touchdowns," says senior running back Derek Knapp.

The Indians open the season Friday night, when it hosts Union-Endicott.
