Oneonta football coach steps down

Oneonta, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The Oneonta high school football team is looking for a new head coach, after its coach steps down.

Coach Adam Hoover says he's hanging up his whistle after 7 seasons.

The 32 year old tells Action News he made the decision to be able to spend the time with my wife and 7 month old daughter.

Hoover, who commutes to Oneonta from his home in Walton, says he will continue to teach 5th grade in the Oneonta district.

As for his football future, he says he may volunteer from time to time with his father, legendary coach Jim Hoover, at Walton.

Hoover went 24 and 36 as head coach of Oneonta.
