Opening day of Tioga County fair

Owego, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The Tioga County fair started Tuesday and runs through Saturday, July 12.

Farmers, vendors, and craftsman from both New York and Pennsylvania at this year's fair displaying their animals and goods.

On Tuesday, the midway opens at 5 p.m. and fireworks are scheduled for 9 p.m.

Gates open at 9 a.m. Wednesday through Saturday with the midway rides opening at noon.

The fair focuses on agriculture and farming in the area.

Barns were filled with animals and horses trotted on the tracks.

4H programs set up an educational exhibit for all to see.

Agriculture officials said fairs like these are a perfect way for people to learn about such an important part of the state's economy.
