(WBNG Binghamton) Catholic Charities is asking for help in feeding local families in need this holiday season.
WBNG-TV hosted the group's Harvest for Hunger phone bank on Wednesday night .
Donations rolled in and one person donated $2,000.
Catholic Charities workers said time is critical because children are out of school for two weeks a time.
"The donations that come in help us purchase healthy nutritious snacks for kids that will last them through school break,"said Tonya Brown of Catholic Charities.
The phone bank will reopen on Action News Thursday at 5 p.m. and continue until 6:30 p.m.
