Town of Fenton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A man deputies say is already accused of rape now faces additional charges.

Officials say Michael Degnan, 38, of Port Crane, raped a 14-year-old girl, then spent nearly a week on the run.

During that time according to the Broome County Sheriff's Office, on June 14, Degnan, broke into a Town of Fenton home, then stole a truck from a neighboring home.

He was taken into custody on June 20.

Detectives say they linked Degnan to the crime by the evidence at the scenes.

Degnan is charged with burglary and grand larceny, both felonies.

Officials say they will arraign Degnan in Town of Fenton Court on the additional charges.
