Town of Chenango, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church celebrates tradition in Castle Creek.

Its annual festival is held at the Sacred Heart picnic grounds.

Those in attendance saw a demonstration from FMK Karate, a performance by Ukrainian dancers, enjoyed a DJ, and tried some Ukrainian cuisine. Church members prepared nearly 450 pounds of potatoes for pyrohy.

"Come out, enjoy the food, the culture, the Ukrainian food, the holubtsi, the kielbasie, come out and enjoy the Ukrainian beer we have here from the oldest brewery in Ukraine that's still active," said Teodor D. Czabala Jr., pastor of the Sacred Heart Ukrainian Church.

That brewery is the Brewery of Liviv and it has been operational since the early 18th century.

"This I would say this is the biggest income for our church so that we can keep on going," added worker Olena Czabala.
