Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Seven local drivers scored trophies Saturday night for their skills on the race track.

Every year, the Five Mile Point Speedway Awards Dinner honors the year's top-scoring drivers.

One of this year's track champions is battling cancer.

"I did treatment, radiation, so on and so forth, and race was supposed to be therapy," Mike Colsten said. "I thought I would be a top ten car, wound up being very successful."

Colsten thanked his wife for letting him continue to drive and his crew for helping him out.

The other track champions include Nick Petrilak, Jon Carpenter, Mike Wilmot, Ken Underwood, Deb Stalker and Lance Albanese.

The speedway staff also collected donations for the Broome County Toys for Tots.
