Johnson City, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Super Bowl weekend is a busy time for grocery stores.

Wegmans in Johnson City was no exception Saturday.

Shoppers filled the store to buy popular game day items like chili, pizza, and potato chips.

Wegmans will also feature its annual "Monster Wing Bar" on Super Bowl Sunday.

Store employees said the store sells more chicken wings during the week of the Super Bowl than they usually do in a month.

While the shoppers were all business, many people were simply excited for the big game.

"The atmosphere in the store was very spirited," said Eric Homa of Wegmans. "We had a lot of people wearing NFL jerseys, and you feel the atmosphere for sure."

Employees also wore NFL jerseys in the store. The money they paid for the jerseys went to United Way.
