(WBNG Binghamton) After an exciting weekend of football, one section 4 team still remains in the state playoffs.

The undefeated Maine-Endwell Spartans.

Maine-Endwell's defense slowed down the number one team in the state en route to a 19-16 win over Aquinas Institute in the state semi-finals.

But the key to the game may have been M-E's running game, which regularly uses 4 running backs.

Justin Jacoby had 2 touchdowns and Nick Sorrenti had one.

But Kyle Gallagher and Luis Uceta also made key contributions on the ground.

"It really is. We've got 4 guys on any given play that can carry the ball so it's assignment football and that's really hard to play against a great team we've got here. I don't think there's anyone that can do that better than we can," says Justin Jacoby.

"With our offense, we don't have to block them all...we can read them and get up the field so like you said, we've got a lot of guys who can do that and we shared the wealth today," says head coach Matt Gallagher.

M-E looks to finish off their undefeated season Friday afternoon at 2:00 pm at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse.

The Spartans will play Burnt Hills.
