Conklin, NY (WBNG Binghamton) It's been nearly two years since the Mineola School District helped Susquehanna Valley's Francis P. Donnelly Elementary School recover from the 2011 floods.

Now, the school is returning the favor.

Many Wednesday stopped by Francis P. Donnelly Elementary to Zumba and raise money for Mineola, a Long Island School District caught in the path of Superstorm Sandy.

Music teacher and registered Zumba instructor Mary Hill said with the Southern Tier being hit by two floods within a five-year period, seeing the devastation from Sandy really hits home.

"When we flooded in 2011, we actually received a truck full of supplies from them -- clothing items, school supplies, everything that we needed that we didn't have. And now we're just trying to raise enough money to help them," Hill said.

Donations are still being accepted. They can be sent to Mary Hill, c/o Francis P. Donnelly Elementary School, P.O. Box 250 (1168 Conklin Road), Conklin, NY 13748.
