(WBNG Binghamton) Two local golfers just finished their first year of college at the division 1 level. And both of them excelled, in part they say, to the local amateur golf association.

Vestal grad Pat Milkovich played at St. Bonaventure University and Windsor grad Chris Stricheck played at St. Francis.

Both of them received scholarships through school and through the Triple Cities Golf Association.

The T-C-G-A is a local organization made of amateur golfers in the area.

"Definitely was a great experience, playing with the guys, learning from them, seeing what they do, how they handle themselves on the course because they've been there, they've done it all, they know what they have to do to succeed so just seeing how the guys handle themselves and how they played and performed really impacted me and my performance," Milkovich says.

The T-C-G-A amateur tournament will be held next weekend at Traditions at the Glen, En-Joie and Binghamton Country Club.Milkovich says he had a great first year in college, in part from competing in TCGA events against some very skilled players.
