Town of Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) It looked like the scene of an emergency along the Vestal Parkway, but it was just a shoot for a new Stop DWI advertisement.

Some local residents stepped in front of the cameras this evening.

The public service announcement is part of a state-wide project funded by a grant through the governor's safety committee.

The goal is to keep people from getting behind the wheel when they've been drinking.

"We're hoping through developing this, it will be part of a tool box that's going to be provided to stop DWI coordinators across the state," said Jim May with the Stop DWI Association.

The PSA is being shot at several locations throughout the Southern Tier.
