Town of Dickinson, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Lieutenant Governor Duffy came to Broome County ready to discuss emergency action needed.

Duffy has been in constant contact with local and state officials, making sure adequate resources are being made available.

He says while he recalls Hurricane Irene and Tropical storm Lee in the Southern Tier.

We're deal with an entirely different storm, possibly the biggest our area has seen.

"I know its probably hard to find a D cell battery anywhere in New York State right now with bread and milk and batteries. Stock up just in case. Again, this region has gone through it. I don't think anyone knows the pain of these emergencies more than Broome County," said Lt. Governor Robert Duffy.

Duffy also adds that local and state resources will be readily available, and first responders have been briefed on quick response times.

Local officials also stress the importance of limited travel during the storm.
