Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Binghamton University Students use theater to entertain students with their passenger rail service campaign.

They want to grab the attention of state politicians to seriously consider a passenger train service between Binghamton and New York City.

They argue that it would benefit seniors, business people, tourists and students.

Tuesday afternoon, they invited other Binghamton University Students to get on-board with a petition.

"Business people can travel back and forth without the worry of traffic jams, always making their meetings on time. Train service is very reliable, and it would bring an interest to the Binghamton are from the New York area, which it already has. The cultural attraction of New York City is terrific up here. People go, especially from the university, and the business community too, back and forth from the city," said James Michalec with Trains for Binghamton.

The group says it will present its petition to lawmakers.

It has already been in contact with Donna Lupardo and Maurice Hinchey's offices.
