Otego, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Class D may be the toughest in all of section 4. And after having success last season winning their division, the Unatego Spartans are looking to rebuild their roster and make another run this season.

The Unatego football team is also looking to fill a lot of holes left by graduation.

The Spartans lost their starting quarterback, running back and wide receiver from last year.

They also lost a couple of members of the offensive line.

Coach Frank Microni says the players filling in are coming along and learning the offense.

And that starts with their sophomore quarterback.

"He's going to do a good job. He has a different skill set than Tyler Butler had. He might be a little more elusive where Tyler was a little more downhill so we designed a few different things with the skill guys we have now but still basically read option stuff," Microni says.

Unatego has about 40 kids on this year's team including nearly a half dozen from Franklin, which helps the team's depth.

Unatego opens the season on the road against Chenango Forks.
