On October 5th, 2008 thousands will gather at Recreation Park in Binghamton to raise awareness and dollars to fight breast cancer. The American Cancer Society will be hosting its 13th annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk. This event is a noncompetitive walk that unites communities to honor and celebrate breast cancer survivors, to educate women about prevention and early detection, and to raise money to fund lifesaving research and support programs to help eliminate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease.
WBNG has been a long time partner with this event and I have been lucky enough to directly support and take part in the event this year. I am so excited to participate, because this is such a great way for me to meet the community while helping raise awareness about early detection.
I am trying to organize a walking team so that I can help make progress against this disease that affects so many lives each year. Below is the link to me team. Please join my team and/or donate so we can make strides against breast cancer. Remember, hope starts with us!
