According to NOAA, this summer (June-August 2008) was the 22nd warmest on record for the contiguous United States. Temperatures were above average in general across the western half of the nation, while in the east cooler than average temperatures were recorded. As a whole, the nation was above average in the precipitation department, recording the 15th wettest summer on record. We'll post more on the local numbers when they become available.
