The Twin Tiers got a taste of summer to start the weekend. The temperatures we experiences today were more typical of July rather than April. Several record highs were broken this afternoon across Central New York and Northeastern Pennsylvania. And, the heat has not left us just yet... the possibility for record high temperatures will return on Monday. Here's a list of today's records:
85 degrees at Binghamton, NY broke the old record of 81 set in 1990.
88 degrees at Syracuse, NY broke the old record of 83 set in 1990.
87 degrees at Avoca, PA broke the old record of 83 set in 1960.
A couple of places even reached 90 degrees through this afternoon. Here's a list of some other very warm high temperatures:
