We've been pretty frost free since the 24th of April. But don't plant those sensitive plants yet!

The current forecast has a chance for frost this Monday, Tuesday, and possibly Wednesday as well. Temperatures are expected to fall into the 30s on at least 2 of the three days.

A look into the long range forecast shows average to perhaps slightly below average temperatures from the 14th through the 22nd of the month.

That said go ahead and plant those "frostproof" plants such as one of my favorites... Swiss Chard. I plan on doing just that this weekend. I already have my broccoli plants started and I keep moving them in and out of the house until I get the garden tilled this weekend.

One other note.. usually Memorial Day weekend is the weekend a lot of us get the gardens planted. However, this year Memorial Day comes a bit early, so beware. The date of the last freezing temperature recorded at the airport is May 25th.

Happy Gardening!
