El Nino has developed. What is El Nino? El Nino is simply the warming of the waters in the eastern equatorial Pacific Ocean.  Click here for more on El Nino.

On a different note, I came across a couple interesting tidbits about our Sun. First, we have finally seen a sunspot. For those that don’t know, we are currently in a solar minimum and sunspots are usually a rare occurrence. This solar minimum has lasted longer than astronomers anticipated. So, this sunspot may be an indication of increased activity. Second, these sunspots may be controlled by a solar jet stream. Check out these two links.
