My garden is finally taking off! It has taken exceptionally long to get things going in my backyard, and I understand that others around here have been having difficulties as well. Too much water has been my issue. Because of all the rain and very little sun during the month of June, my garden acquired a pack of slugs. So, I’ve been in close contact with my good friend Buddy Weiser. It really seems to work, especially with the sun and drier conditions we’ve seen lately.

Let’s compare rainfall for June and July. Through the first 22 days of June we had 4.24”, while in July we had 1.32”. I expect to see average to above average precipitation amounts through the end of the month. This should put us close to the average July rainfall amount of 3.49”. The long range forecast for August gives us average rainfall.
