Sunspot activity spiked in December. After a very quiet year and the longest solar minimum in 100 years, we finally have some action! December had 22 days with sunspots. The rest of 2009 was very quiet with the number of days with sunspots topping off over 10 days only 5 times. We are still in the solar minimum. Only time will tell if we're able to begin our climb out.
