This winter sure has been a strange one. We’ve had plenty of cold, and it appears we’re headed for below average temperatures. One thing that has been lacking is a good ole snow storm. Most of our snow has come in spurts and sputters. The largest snowfall for the 2009-2010 winter was back on December 9th, when 6.4 inches fell at the airport. The next largest snowfall was 3.3 inches on New Year’s Eve. The remainder of the snowfall has been 3 inches or less. The last storm where we received over a foot was back on April 16-17th of 2007! That was also the last time we picked up over 7 inches of snow in one storm.
We do have a shot at one of the biggest snowfalls of the year Tuesday night into Wednesday (Feb 9th/10th). That isn’t saying much given the information above. Nonetheless I think we have a shot at over 3 inches….Stay Tuned…
