Spring is here! Well at least meteorological spring is here. Meteorological begins on March 1st and includes the months of March, April, and May. Astronomical spring arrives on March 20th at 1:32pm.
March is a pretty changeable month around here. We start the month with average highs around 35, but by the end of the month average highs reach 47 degrees. The normal average low doesn’t rise above freezing until April.
Snow can obviously occur in March and the average snowfall for March is 14.2 inches. One year ago however, we saw least amount of snow on record for March with only .9” measured.
The forecast for the month is calling for average to below average temperatures, while precipitation is expected to be at or below average.
