Preparedness and Severe Weather Safety

Things to do BEFORE a storm:

- Have a disaster kit handy. It should include things like food, water, and medical supplies. Go to Red Cross’ website for more ideas for a disaster supply kit.
- Make a plan. Know what to do if a disaster strikes.
- Be informed. Watch WBNG and have a weather radio handy.

Thunderstorm Safety:

- Seek shelter indoors, in a car, or ditch
- Stay away from windows
- Don’t use a phone (unless it is cordless)
- Don’t swim or take a bath/shower
