An asteroid, named "2005 YU55" is expected to pass between the Earth and Moon's orbits on November 8th. Though it is expected to cause no problems, it is close enough to be called an NEO or Near Earth Object. Even though astronomers know this will not impact the Earth, any path that comes within the Moon's orbit is considered a "near miss". This may seem strange considering at its closest the asteroid will be 200,000 miles away. But if you think about how large our solar system is, calling it a near miss is actually quite reasonable.
