The week of March 18-22, 2013 has been designated National Flood Safety Week.

Flooding causes more damage in the United States than any other weather-related event. Throughout the week, we will be posting information about flooding and what you can do to keep yourself informed and your family safe.

Topics will range from hazards of driving in floods, ice jams and snowmelt flooding, insurance information, and real-time river data, among others.

We will be referring to information from the National Weather Service and relating it to our flood-prone area here in the Twin Tiers. Please check back each day this week for information on this important topic.
