The week of March 18-22, 2013 has been designated National Flood Safety Week.

The National Weather Service has a campaign aimed at making people aware of the dangers of flooded areas - most specifically - roadways. It is called TADD - which stands for Turn Around Don't Drown.

The Centers for Disease Control estimates that more than HALF of all flood-related deaths occur when someone drives a vehicle through flood water.

Many people fail to recognize that as little as 6 inches of swiftly moving water can knock an adult off their feet and only 2 feet of water is enough to float and carry away a vehicle.

For more information on TADD please visit: Turn Around Don't Drown!

Be sure to check back each day this week. We'll have more flood information and links for you to follow to keep you and your family safe!
