We decided to go to the airport in hopes of seeing President Clinton before his Maurice Hinchey rally last night. We had met him when he was returning to the airport from another event in Binghamton back in 2000. Back then, he stopped and greeted everyone that was there including our then 2 year old son Ryan. Being the only ones there besides The Press people this time, we hoped we might get another chance to see him. We waved to the waving President as the motorcade left the tarmac, went by us, and headed to the road. It came to a stop a second later and out came President Clinton. He walked around the back of the SUV, along with his Secret Service, and told is to come on over. We met near the car and he greeted our family with handshakes. Seeing our camera, he offered a photo with our son Ryan. After the picture, I showed him the photo I took of him 10 years ago at the airport. He took the photo, smiled, and said "10 years ago? Wow...who's that guy" looking at the then younger Clinton. He then offered to sign it, which he did, to all of us, along with "Best Wishes...Bill Clinton" Thanked us all, waved, and left for Binghamton. It was an incredible moment we will never forget.
One on One with President Clinton
