The Varna Volunteer Fire Company responded to a structural fire call located at 401 Snyder Hill Road, Ithaca at 00:34 Friday morning. House was fully ablaze on the first engine's arrival. The residents, Bruce and Rasa Seager were awoken by the smoke alarms and were able to get out and call 911 from their neighbors. They were able to save their dog, but are afraid their cats, did not make it out of the burning home. Varna was aided by mutual aid from Brooktondale, Cayuga Heights, Dryden Fire and Ambulance, Ithaca, Slaterville Fire and Speedsville. The family was assisted by the American Red Cross. On scene operations went on until 05:42 this morning
