Partners Rick Newman and Larry Roseboom will demonstrate and sample syrup from their state-of-the-art facility located in Westford, NY. “We will be sampling our syrup made from this year’s exceptional crop that yielded plenty of light and medium amber perfect for making candy and cream,” said Rick Newman, who is also President of the Otsego County Maple Producer’s Association. Breezie Maples Farm was recently certified organic by the USDA through the Northeast Organic Farmers’ Association (NOFA) making them the largest producer certified in the State. “This certification validates our commitment to creating quality products through a process that is both energy efficient and good for the environment. We use reverse osmosis and ultra-violet light technologies to reduce energy usage during the reduction process from sap to syrup. The organic certification guarantees that only our own sap is made into syrup, no blending will occur.”
Syrup Tasting hours are 10 - 4 both days. Admission and parking are free.
