The Basically Bach Ensemble’s first concert of its fifth season will be held November 23 at 7:30 p.m. in St. Ambrose Church. J.S. Bach's Organ Chorale Prelude, BWV 648 (He remembers his Mercy) will be performed by organist/choir director Timothy Wetherbee along with Bach’s Cantata BWV 10 (My Soul doth Magnify the Lord), and an early Mass by Joseph Haydn Missa Sancti Nicolai with chorus, soloists and chamber orchestra. The soloists will be Ghislaine Stewart, Soprano; Hilerie Klein-Rensi, Mezzo-Soprano; James Gleason, Tenor; and Randolph Messing, Bass. The conductor is Fitzroy Stewart and a free-will offering is encouraged. Funding is provided, in part, by a project grant from the United Cultural Fund, a program of the Broome County Arts Council.
Fitzroy Stewart conducts the Basically Bach Ensemble's Spring concert March 30.
