At 3:30am firefighters arrived on the scene at the First Baptist Church in Walton, NY. The church was burning on the inside at the time, but the flames could not be contained and the church burned to the ground. The adjacent parsonage was also significantly damaged as the fire spread. Firefighters from Walton and Trout Creek were first at the scene; and were later assisted by the Delhi and Sidney Fire Departments. The fire was battled for a few hours and finally brought under control at approximately 6:15am.

These are very good pictures, it must have been hard to take them with all the emotional feelings. I can see the bell in the bell tower. Were they able to save that too? The things that were saved will be there for a new beginning.

God always comes through in mysterious ways! Saving the sign and the steps is a sign of mysterious ways! May God be with Pastor Jay and Maggie and family as well as the Baptist church family!

By a saving Grace, the sign in front of this church, made it through, UNSCATHED!
