If you're in Owego,on a Sunday afternoon and hear sounds, that give you "A Blast From The Past", it's The "Sweethearts of the Southern Tier" you hear. Also known as The Mello-Dears All girl Drum & Bugle Corps Alumni. They have been staying warm inside this winter rehearsing for what will be their first performances in decades. Members who played in the Drum Corps as far back as 1962 are there as well as those who were in when the corps ceased in 1983. Planned performances for Memorial Day, Strawberry Festival, a show in Pitsford, NY then their 50th Anniversary and Reunion on July 30th are driving them to practice often. If you are, or know of former members tell them to look for Mello-Dears on face book so they can reunite.

This is too cool! I used to march with the corp! Now, I live 260 miles away, but my heart still skips a beat when I hear that Mello-Dear Street beat! Hats off to all my "green sisters" who are there, practicing, and will perform! You rock!
